Our Tungsten Disulfide WS2 Super Lube for Pinewood Derby Cars is a 99.9% pure, extremely fine lubricate. In fact, Tungsten Disulfide is one of the most lubricious materials in the world. This product works best when combined with our wheel and axle polishing kit. When WS2 is properly applied it creates a .5 micron coating on the axle shaft that is actually bonded at a molecular level. This is why time must be taken to properly work the tungsten disulfide into to axle. Another interesting property of Tungsten Disulfide is it won’t build up on itself like other dry lubricants. Because of its unique molecular structure and very small partial size, the material simply slips on itself. Due to its ability to stay only .5 microns thin on a surface, we urge you to get our Wheel and Axle Polishing Kit to pre the surface since the Tungsten Disulfide will retain the surface features of the screw and wheel, no matter how minute.

This stuff is amazing! I don't do derby cars, I use it on other things like guns, car engines, and virtually anything that needs lube. It's not only slick as can be, it extends the life of parts dramatically! Don't worry about the quantity, a little goes a looooong way. You could easily do several engines with this little tub.

I've purchased a number of premium graphites over the years, and to be honest, I expected this to be another amount of wasted money.  I put this on the axles and inside the wheels as the directions show, and I noticed quieter wheels and longer spinning times.  I plan to purchase this each year.
